||1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.| Tarantino recommended|By Matt Abraxas|I saw 3 copies of this book on Quentin Tarantino's shelf. I've never been much for film critics before, but this is because the true art of film review is pretty much lost today. Pauline Kael makes an art of film-appreciation. She isn't an overly dramatic, scathing critic, who sadly puts up the facade of ridicule in place of some failed|About the Author|Winner of the American National Book Award for her film criticism in 1974, Pauline Kael was, until her retirement in 1974, a reviewer and critic of films and filming for over thirty years. Other titles by Pauline Kael available from Marion Boya

Originally written for The New Yorker magazine between June 1980 and June 1983, her reviews bring to life over 150 films including Blade Runner, Tootsie, The Return of the Jedi. Her scathing essay, 'Why Are Movies So Bad' is also included in which Miss Kael takes on the Hollywood money-men whose love of a swift and easy financial return has led to the alarming number of truly bad films which are on show today.
